The last 25 days of school just feel off in a different way. Everyone knows summer is coming up, even if there’s not some official countdown like there is for Christmas. Around Christmas, people have those calendars where you open something every day, but for summer there’s nothing like that; even though summer is longer and honestly something most people look forward to way more.
Even without a real calendar, people still count it down. You’ll hear people saying “only 20 days left” or “it’s almost summer,” and some people literally cross the days off. It just becomes a thing everyone’s thinking about. At the same time, those last 25 days are kind of stressful. Teachers are trying to finish everything, students have finals, projects, and random assignments all due at once. It feels like everything is happening at the worst time, right when no one wants to do anything anymore.
School also just feels different. People are more distracted, classes are more chaotic, and it’s harder to focus because everyone’s already thinking about summer. They look forward to things like sleeping in, hanging out, or just not having to deal with school until the fall.
Whether there is an actual count down to summer or not, the last 25 days of school are a mix of stress and being excited. The anticipation for summer grows each and everyday for students. Even without an official calendar, everyone knows summer is just right around the corner.
