Hoppers is a 2026 Pixar animated science fiction comedy film. The film follows animal-loving college student Mabel, who transfers her mind into a lifelike robotic beaver to communicate with animals and save their habitat from human destruction, inadvertently sparking an uprising in the process.
Mabel Tanaka’s childhood was spent with her grandmother in a forest glade filled with wild animals. After her parents leave and her grandmother passes away, she continues to protect the glade. When Beaverton’s mayor, Jerry Generazzo, announces plans to replace the glade with a freeway—claiming the animals have already left- Mabel campaigns against the project but faces opposition and neglects her studies, drawing criticism from her professor. She learns about a secret project called “Hoppers,” which allows humans to inhabit robotic animals. Despite Sam’s warning that interfering with wildlife could have disastrous consequences, Mabel sees an opportunity to save the glade and escape the lab. Mabel uses the technology to become a robotic beaver to save the glade.
