Wylie High School just recently had not only one, but two first-place powerlifters at State. They are complete opposites, but both reached their goal and placed first in the 2026 THSPA/THSWPA State Powerlifting Meet. Arielys Perez Rivera is a 15 year old sophomore at Wylie High School. She has been attending Wylie since elementary school and has been in powerlifting since freshman year in 2024. Rivera broke her own bench record of 195lbs. by setting a new one of 205lbs. at the THSPWA Meet.

On the other hand, Carson Martin is a 17 year old junior at Wylie High School. He has been at Wylie since middle school and joined powerlifting as a freshman in 2023 and has stuck with it ever since. Martin placed a new THSPA record, set new personal records for himself along the way, and was deemed Best Overall.
