Forrest Gump is a 1994 American comedy-drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis. Forrest Gump tells the story of a kindhearted man with a low IQ who, through series of accidental but pivotal moments, witnesses and influences major U.S. historical event from the 1950’s to the 1980’s, all while trying to reunite with his childhood sweetheart, Jenny, and honor his mother’s simple wisdom.
During Forrest Gump’s childhood, he wore metal leg braces and was nearly excluded from public schools. His mother was very protective, making sure he has the same opportunities as other children. He didn’t have many friends but he had one, named Jenny, who helped him and accepted him instead of bullying him like the other children who would later on chase and pelt Forrest with rocks. As a result, Forrest ran so far his leg braces broke apart changing his life forever. His adventures include becoming a football star, a Vietnam War hero, and a long-distance runner.
