During one of the most anticipated events of the year, a surprising yet beautiful moment occurred: A real life couple got married during the Superbowl halftime show featuring Bad Bunny.
On February 8, 2026, Puerto Rican singer Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, also known as Bad Bunny, went on stage and performed multiple of his hit songs for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. During the show, a couple appeared right before a surprise collaboration with Lady Gaga, who sang a rendition of “Die with a Smile” with a live band. The newlyweds then sat together on stage adjacent to a large multi-layer cake that they would later slice a piece of. The couple then danced alongside Bad Bunny to close out their special moment.
After the football game, teams at PEOPLE confirmed that the couple were actually the real deal. They found out that the groom was Thomas Wolter and the Bride was Eleisa Aparico. Aparico has shared a clip of her and Thomas’s time during the Super Bowl on her Instagram story. She wrote how her “heart is so full. This experience has been nothing short of amazing”.
Thomas is a registered nurse as of March 2021, as he writes in his Instagram. In May 2023, he received his bachelor of science in nursing from California State University, Fullerton. Eleisa was someone Thomas had met during his time researching and studying as a nurse and later engaged in October 2024 in Cannon Beach, Oregon. She shared a photo that day detailing how it was “the most perfect day”. She continues with how she would always say yes, even a million times over. A few days following, Thomas posted a message on Instagram reading, “She said yes 🥹”
The Super Bowl halftime is infamous for its grand surprises that nobody sees coming, but this year’s had people speculating as to if the wedding that took place at Bad Bunny’s performance was real. When the findings by PEOPLE came out, the world was shocked by this crazy, yet beautiful event. The two plans to continue enjoying their time as a newlywed couple and embark on parenthood.
