The world is absolutely stunned as the newest Nintendo console breaks the record for fastest selling console during its launch week, dethroning the previous record-holder made by the Nintendo DS, which sold around 1.5 million units compared to the Switch 2’s 3 million. The skyrocket of sales was due to many promises presented by Nintendo, such as bigger and better screen quality, storage, and the complete cutoff of the infamously troublesome stick drift. As of September of 2025, the switch continues to blast through sales, currently at an astounding 5.8 million sales worldwide and is expected to hit 10 million by the end of the year.
However, Nintendo has influenced these sales by not being as truthful about the features of the console. The company glorified some new additions such as the supposed eradication of stick drift, but the issue still may occur for some users. An anonymous Reddit user complains how “my Switch 2 already has calibration problems after starting it up for the first time and it won’t go away.”
Despite some faulty communication by Nintendo, The Switch 2 continues to amaze the world with its monumental status as the successor to the Switch, and its outstanding sales as of recently. Users have been enjoying using their state-of-the-art console and the improved gaming experience.
