In light of the recent storms that have been affecting Texas, Wylie High has been making efforts to aid in relief against the damage from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  Bay-side city Port Aransas is one of the areas suffering the most from this damage. Wylie had two events to help raise money to support Port Aransas High School from the devastation they are facing: a day on which students could pay a donation of three or more dollars to wear a hat and a sale of glow-in-the-dark bracelets for Wylie’s blackout pep rally.  The bracelets were inscribed on either side with “Wylie Strong” and “Texas Strong.” All profit will be set towards reconstruction of Port Aransas High and replacement of lost school supplies. Students and teachers raised $2500 between the two fundraisers.  Wylie plans to send each student of Port Aransas a bracelet.
