Wylie I.S.D. has decided to create a daycare for the kids of Wylie staff members. This program will be to let teachers have a daycare that has the right hours for school, is affordable, and is at a place that teachers can trust with their kids. This day care will take children of WISD staff members, but grandchildren are not eligible unless they are the legal guardian. It will be located at the Early Childhood center. Since the Early Childhood center currently has pre-k and kindergarten, they will move kindergarten to the west elementary school along with first and second grade. The daycare will be open on all of the days that staff members are expected to be on campus, from August to May. The price has not been fully decided yet, but they want to keep it under $500 a month per child. There is still a lot of work to be done, such as renovations and licensing, but Wylie is fully committed to having this daycare open in early August of 2023.

Jenny Amonett, the director of the daycare, says, “ I am very excited to be the Director of the newly opening Licensed daycare called Pup Academy !
This is a wonderful opportunity for all Wylie ISD employees to bring their children each day.  I am excited to love on these little children and watch them grow!
We will care for children six weeks old through three years old.  Please feel free to email myself if you have any gently used items that we can use for the classrooms.
Thank you so much! [email protected]
