Do you know the history of Memorial Day? Memorial Day was first labeled in May of 1882. Before then, It was known as Decoration Day, the day to decorate and mourn at the graves of fallen soldiers. 850,000 lives were lost during the Civil War and they were commemorated on Decoration Day. Memorial Day is celebrated to honor the bravery of those who are active duty, soldiers who died at war, and the soldiers who survived war. Memorial Day is meant for gatherings of peace and fun. So, this Memorial Day get together with family or friends and enjoy your time honoring our fallen soldiers.
