TMSCA includes number sense, calculator, math, and science. As of this year, all advanced students in 6th grade are required to take TMSCA, to fill in the advanced, double blocked math class. Students who want to excel at any math or sciences are encouraged to participate in UIL events and math meets. Those who enjoy the challenge can take it in high school which helps students in their advanced courses as they learn college level math and become used to advanced ideas. Students who’ve graduated often return to inform their TMSCA teachers how much the class helped and is helping them in college.
