Area Competition

On Monday, November 19th, Wylie FFA had 3 of their LDE teams travel to the area contest held in Mineral Wells, consisting of 10 students.  The Sr. chapter conducting team, which involves working a mock business problem using parliamentary procedures, advanced to the area level contest this year with it being their first time to ever compete in this contest; this is extremely impressive, and we applaud them for all of their time and hard work put into their team this year and on a job well done. All other teams performed extremely well, which included the radio broadcasting team as well as the Sr. level creed speaking contest. The results were as follows:

Sr. Chapter Conducting- 11th place team in the area.
Team consisted of:  Hannah Kay Kirby, Brooke Jones, Avery Soto, Macie McMillion, Kaylee Dickson, Morgan Woods, Payton Burns, & Kauy Ostlien.
Radio Broadcasting- placed 3rd in the area
Team consisted of: Hunter Harris, Brooke Jones & Tatum McFarland

Advanced to State:

Sr. Creed Speaker- Hannah Kay Kirby, placed 1st in the area, advancing to state at Sam Houston State University.

State Competition

Congratulations to Hannah Kay Kirby for placing 4th at the STATE FFA Creed Speaking finals. This year Hannah won the Big Country District contest, won the Area IV FFA contest, and competed at her best at the STATE FFA contest. There was a total of 695 FFA Creed Speakers in the State of Texas. This is quite the accomplishment, and we are super proud of her. She represented Wylie FFA well at one of the highest levels of competition.
