The Road to Becoming District 5-4A Champions

The Wylie girls’ varsity basketball team have had a successful season with a 28-6 record. Friday, January 12 was the girl’s first district game of the season against the Snyder Lions ending with a score of 76-46. They brought their momentum for success along to the next 3 district games. After Snyder, the girls had a smooth game against the Sweetwater Mustangs on Sweetwater’s home court with an overall score of 76-42. Then, they played an away game against their rivals, the Brownwood Lions, that resulted in a close game, but Wylie came on top with a score of 50-44.  On Friday, January 26 on home court against Big Spring with an expected win of 72-42. Then, the girls played Snyder on their home grounds that was a close game, but the Bulldogs pulled through with a score of 50-41. They are scheduled to play Sweetwater this Tuesday, February 6.

The Wylie girls are hoping to win out in district and go far into the playoffs. They put in a lot of their time and effort into the sport, which only increases their chances towards accomplishing this goal.
