The Wylie Volleyball team has an outstanding record of 20-7. The girls started their season with tryouts on August 1st. Their first scrimmages started August 9th and prepared them for their tough preseason. They faced tough opponents, like Southlake Carroll, who is ranked number two in the state of Texas and 37th in the nation. The Wylie volleyball team won against this powerful team and proved they could hang with tough 6A opponents.
During the tournament season, the girls ended up 2nd in Bev Ball, losing to Lubbock Cooper Liberty High School. They just finished on August 30th with a win at the Joshua Showcase.
Preseason is coming to an end with only four more games left. District starts on September 23rd, and the first game is at Cooper, so bring your Wylie spirit!
Last year the girls went all the way to the Regional Semifinals, losing a tough game to Argyle, who also ended up losing the next round. Wylie made history last year as they have never gone past round two in 5A. The girls are hoping to go just as far and even further, with the main goal being state.
The next home volleyball game is September 9th at 7:00 PM against Central High School. Go and support your Lady Bulldogs!!
