Key City Volleyball is the only volleyball club here in Abilene, Texas. KCV as it’s called is a way for young women to participate in athletic endeavors and experience the joy of travel volleyball. There are several experienced coaches including coaches with college playing and coaching experience, along with players from ACU.
KCV is owned and operated right here in Abilene, Texas. Club Volleyball gives young girls a chance to compete at a high level and travel all across Texas. The teams start out at ages 10-11 and go all the way up to 17-18’s depending on the year. KCV has experienced coaches and a loving environment for all those involved. Practices occur roughly twice a week usually at times either 5:30-6:30, or for the older kids, 7:30-9:30. Tryouts are being held July 21, 23, and 30.
Travel volleyball has so many benefits beyond increasing skill level. Volleyball provides girls the opportunity to work in a team setting to achieve a common goal; it lets them create friendships between schools and work under many different coaches which allows them to learn different techniques and styles of how to play the game. Volleyball teaches valuable lessons about teamwork, moving on after hardships, and traveling lets girls be able to play against better competition and broaden their knowledge of the beautiful state they live in. Volleyball is also an amazing sport to play when you’re little.
KCV provides girls so many great opportunities to grow as a human and even get recruited for college! Volleyball is a great sport and KCV helps to take advantage of all the wonderful aspects of this great sport.
