The state swim meet took place on February 21st-22nd at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Wylie High School had six swimmers qualify, earning a total of two points as a team. Throughout the year, the athletes worked diligently and pushed through hardships to reach state—an achievement worth celebrating.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Maria B. secured an impressive 15th place with a time of 1:08.04. Diego D. competed in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing 20th with a time of 22.2. JT Partin took on the 100-yard backstroke and placed 23rd, clocking in at 56.77. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Diego D., Ben J., Teigan D., and Joshua H. finished 23rd with a collective time of 1:32.89.
Once again, the Bulldogs proved their talent and determination at this meet. Throughout the season, Wylie Swim has worked tirelessly, and it’s time the team gets the recognition they deserve for their dedication and hard work.
