The Wylie Soccer program has just ended on Friday, March 21 with a sad goodbye. The girls lost in the first round of playoffs to Lubbock Monterey. Monterey had scored in the last ten minutes of the game and left Wylie heartbroken. The girls had a great season and ended in third place at the Abilene tournament and ended with a record of 6-2 in district. They tied three times and won in a shootout all three times. Wylie girls ended with a final record of 9-5-3. The boys unfortunately never made it to playoffs because of a very tough district; their final record was 9-9.
Sadly, the girls coach has announced that she will not be returning to Wylie and will be taking a job elsewhere. Wylie will be hiring a new coach for the 25-26 season and will hope for a new start. Wylie girls had 8 seniors leaving the team with one, Sarah Williams, committed to D2 University of Texas Permian Basin. The boys had 6 seniors with no commits.
Wylie soccer has just ended and the girls will immediately begin training and practicing for next year. They will encounter the same district as this year which includes Wichita Falls schools. We hope to see them be just as successful as this year, go dawgs!
