The 2024 Wylie Bulldogs football season came to a halt as of Friday Nov. 22. It was the 2nd round of playoffs, and the Bulldogs were playing against the Anna Coyotes. After a hard fought game, the Coyotes came out on top ending the Wylie season. After such a hard-fought game, these Bulldogs deserve some praise.
Starting in the preseason, the team went on to practice almost every day for over 3 hours a day. These practices lead to the Bulldogs earning their undefeated district title. Even before district, the Bulldogs dominated most other teams on the field.
When district started, the Bulldogs were ready to get back to putting points on the scoreboard. When all the hard work the team had put in, they knew they earned their spot in the playoffs.
The first round was against El Paso Andress, and the Bulldogs pulled out an amazing win by scoring 46 points and only letting up 10. Moving to the second round, was a great confidence booster for the Bulldogs, and they were not about to let that stop them, but Anna had different plans. All throughout the 1st quarter the game was close, but after halftime the Bulldogs were so fatigued that they let up a few touchdowns. This led to a finishing score of 21-56. The team had a great run and finished out on a good game. They make many students in our school proud to be Wylie Bulldogs.
