On May 13, 2024, I hosted a mentoring day for the younger visually impaired students in our region. This event was designed to help the younger students expand their skill sets as well as
have fun. The younger students were paired up with an older visually impaired student for various activities. The older students were tasked with helping the younger ones through each
activity. Some of the activities included instructed dancing, Braille Bingo, and learning the parts of the human skeleton. The students also had to go to a restaurant and order their meals.
All of the students accomplished every single goal of the day successfully. It is a lot of work planning an event, it is well worth the time and effort.
