Most people know of the Gaza war. But something people might not know is that many colleges and universities have been protesting the Gaza war all over the U.S, which is causing an extreme amount of political and civil unrest. The incident that inspired these events just happened to be the University of Colombia, where protesters had demanded that the university separate themselves from companies supporting Israel. Now these events have had an effect on the entire nation as more and more schools are having these protests.
As of Apr 22, 2024, the protesters have been said to have done over 1 million dollars in damages. Hundreds of people had been detained at UC and many more were arrested across numerous Ivy League schools. And these students are risking their futures for something that does not directly affect them. They have been threatened to be suspended from the universities or even expelled in extreme cases.
As of now there are over 100 Schools in the U.S protesting the Gaza war support and 20 outside of the nation. These are dark times for our nation as our current generation in these schools are blindly supporting terrorism and chaos. Hopefully the schools will be able to regain control of their students, so the nation can finally be shed of one less problem.
