Unfortunately, the Lubbock Monterey squad’s defense, having allowed 1 goal in 14 games, did not start their district games off right. But with their toughest opponent out of the way, winnable games are approaching the boys. On the other hand, the Girls’ Varsity team has emerged undefeated after their first 3 games in district. Having outscored their opponents 7-1 in district, hopes are high for the girls. The Lady Bulldogs are now looking to keep their streak alive and secure their playoff spot, and potentially make a deep playoff run. The two teams’ different situations show how unpredictable soccer can be, so nothing is set in stone for the clubs.
