The Tesla Cyber Truck has stirred opinions about the future of Electric Vehicles since it was first unveiled back in 2019. However, just recently the Tesla Cyber Truck has been delivered to the first owners of the futuristic styled vehicle. The futuristic styling of the truck has brought both criticism, and acclaim to the truck.
The Tesla Cyber Truck is built around having a stainless steel exterior which Tesla has touted as being bulletproof in multiple viral videos which showcases the door preventing the penetration of bullets from different firearms. Another selling point of the vehicle is its shatter-resistant glass that is protective to a 70 MPH baseball being thrown at it. Apart from protecting its occupants, the Cyber Truck is also showcased for having a payload of 2,500 pounds, and a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds. These qualities make the Cyber Truck a seemingly useful truck to use in any environment it can reach.
Another aspect of the Cyber Truck is its performance ability, such as having all-wheel drive. The Cyber Truck is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in 2.6 seconds, and has a top speed of 130 MPH. Furthermore, the Cyber Truck boasts 10,000 lb-ft of torque, and 845 HP which makes propelling the 6,500 pound vehicle an easy task. However, the performance of the Cyber Truck comes with a hefty price. Only the “Cyberbeast” trim level of the Tesla has the previous stated performance which comes in at an estimated price of $99,990.
Currently, the only two versions of the Cyber Truck that are available for delivery in 2024 are the “CyberBeast,” and the base all-wheel drive version. The base cost of acquiring a Cyber Truck is $79,900 which is $10,000 more than originally promised for the “Cyberbeast” when first unveiled in 2019. Another difference between 2019 and now, is the range was substantially cut from being an advertised 500 miles to 320 miles. These faults make the Cyber Truck an unlikely candidate to replace the traditional pickup truck used by millions of Americans everyday.
Whether or not the Cyber Truck appeals to you, it’s easy to say that Elon Musk knows how to make vehicles that stand out both performance wise and looks.
