Two weeks ago France discovered that the iPhone 12 emits more electromagnetic radiation than what is permitted by France’s laws; as a result, France took the phone off their market.
While the iPhone 12 failed these tests, the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro passed the same ones. Apple and other European bodies have ignored this issue claiming that the radiation the iPhone 12 puts out is not enough to harm anyone. The radiation emitted by mobile phones is measured in Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). The SAR level of any device should not exceed 1.6 watts per kilogram. The iPhone 12 gets up to 5.74 watts per kilogram when using your phone.
X-rays, the sun, radon, and even radiation therapy can increase your risk of cancer. The radiation in phones is nothing to worry about, but something you should know about. Apple says that this is not a safety concern, and goes on to say that the iPhone 12-as is the case for all other smartphones-was subjected to and passed an array of tests and certifications around the globe. Apple, however, has said that it will “issue a software update”.
