The Farmer’s Almanac is predicting an unseasonably stormy Winter for The State of Texas this upcoming winter. The almanac details that an unseasonably, cold, and stormy winter is predicted for Texas in the upcoming winter. Furthermore, the almanac is predicting winter storms to keep Texans busy during January. The reasoning behind the prediction from the publication is due to the forming of an El Nino before the winter season. The Farmer’s Almanac uses their secretive weather formula which was developed in 1818 to predict conditions. However, the Farmer’s Almanac is not always correct on their winter predictions.
Back in 2021, the Almanac said the winter would bring a mild to tranquil winter to Texas. Instead, Texas received a record snowstorm which brought winter storm warnings to every county in the state, as well as causing a major disruption in ERCOT, Texas’ power grid. At the peak of the storm, almost 10 million people were left without power. This weather event was coined with the term Snowmageddon by many Texans as a way of describing the devastating effect the storm had on the Lone Star State.
In the end, it is important to remember that not all predictions are correct even by acclaimed almanacs that seek to predict the doings of Mother Nature. One thing that is always certain is that nature can always throw curveballs especially in Texas.
