As a new year comes and goes, many are seemingly unaffected by it (although if you’re like me, then it takes you till March before you finally write down the correct year on assignments). Anyways, as 2019 comes to a close, so does the 2010 decade. Personally, I have been struggling with this because like the rest of you, I grew up in this decade. I got to experience some of the amazing things that the 2010’s offered. Here are some of the wonderful pop culture related events that the rest of us students at Wylie High and I got to enjoy in our youth. I hope that you loved all of these things just as much as I did.
1. Good Luck Charlie, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated all aired their first episodes.
2. Vine came into existence (and sadly perished a few years later).
3. Angry Birds became a popular mobile app.
4. 1 Direction band members auditioned for the X Factor separately (and thankfully the great Simon Cowell put them together).
5. Adele released the hit song “Hello”.
6. Instagram was created.
7. The Fault in our Stars was the must see movie of 2014.
8. The song “Let it Go” was stuck in everyone’s heads when Frozen was released in 2013.

10. “Gangam Style” became the first YouTube video to hit 1 billion views on YouTube.
11. Everyone learned “The Cup Song” from Pitch Perfect.
12. “What Does the Fox Say” became a YouTube sensation.
13. Everyone was doing the Ice Bucket Challenge.
14. The internet had a heated debate over a dress.
15. At long last, Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar.
16. Everyone was walking around with their phones in the air upon the release of the hit mobile app Pokemon Go.
