Students of Wylie High School have teamed up with Mrs. Powell, Mrs. Berry, and Mr. Vaughn to form The Purple Dog Company. This entrepreneurship class has a mission to establish a recognized business and teach students about business management through first hand experience.

MADBAR Design Co. at the Bulldog Market

The company’s first big hit was the Bulldog Market held on November 30 in the school cafeteria. Students from elective classes, such as Art, Home Economics, Child Development, and Ag, hand crafted materials and established prices for these items to be sold at this event. Items ranging from home decor to food were sold to the Abilene Community in hopes to create a profit to keep this business running. Free music, prizes, food and beverages, and a photo booth were all prearranged to make this experience as enjoyable as possible for customers. Prizes won at The Bulldog Market included gift cards in support of local businesses similar to that of The Purple Dog Company as well as opportunities to win prizes on social media. Support for this business was shown throughout the whole Abilene community by the amazing turnout to this event.
