This weekend on March 25, 2022, Wylie took the first place District Speech Title. After CX district, Wylie was tied with Lubbock, leaving everything to the Academic District in March. Luckily, we ended up being quite successful, taking first place in three events. Kade Killion took first place in Persuasive Extemp; Brendan Hurt took first place in Informative Extemp; David Deprang took first place in LD. Notably, this is the first time Wylie has gotten first at district for LD in 6 years. The final score ended up being Wylie in first with 169 points and Lubbock in second with 126 points. Even though things were close, we managed to clutch up in the end.
