Select seniors were interviewed and asked to share about their time at Wylie, including their post graduation plans, most memorable moments, and most inspirational teachers.

Aaron Ramos, who is graduating valedictorian, plans to attend The University of Arizona upon graduation. He would like to express his gratitude and appreciation for Mrs. Taylor.

“She has helped curb my talking problem, written my recommendation letters, and taught the beautiful language of Spanish,” Ramos said.

Although he is sad to leave his friends and see everyone go their separate ways, Ramos is most excited for the change after high school.

He would like to advise upcoming seniors to live their senior year to the fullest.

“Hold your friends close for the ride, do all the cliche senior things, and turn in at least most of your homework,” he said.

Anna Javins plans on attending Colorado Christian University and studying pre-medicine. She would like to thank Mrs. Blair for her positive influence throughout her high school career. Her most memorable moment in high school would have to be the time she slid under the fire medal gate as it was closing and ripped her pants in the process. She is very grateful for her senior year and hopes the upcoming seniors will feel the same.

“If I were to give one piece of advice to the upcoming seniors is to enjoy every little moment and never take anything for granted,” Javins said. “Senior year goes by really fast, so make sure you aren’t caught up in the future and focus more on what you have in the present because you will never get that back.”

Dhruv Paresh, who will be attending Texas Tech University in the fall, plans on majoring in Media Communications and minoring in marketing or management. He is very appreciative for many of his teachers, but one that sticks out is Mr. Shoemake.

“I have know him for about three years, and I have spent countless hours with him out of school for speech and theatre,” Paresh said. “He has been a great mentor and has taught me many life lessons.”

One of Paresh’s most memorable moments at Wylie would be hosting the pep rallies. He really enjoyed being able to control the school’s environment while boosting school spirit and student morale.

He is very thankful for all that Wylie has prepared him for, and he is ready to take his involvement and experiences to new levels at Texas Tech. However, he is greatly going to miss the teachers at Wylie High School.

Kathlyn Messer plans to pursue musical theatre at Hardin Simmons University. She would like to thank Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Christian who have been there for her more than anyone else.

“Their kind support and genuine care for their students has always made me feel loved and like I had someone to go to when things got bad,” Messer said.

Thank you to the entire Class of 2019 for what you have contributed to Wylie High School, and thank you to the faculty and staff who have inspired and influenced them along their way.
