The Wylie Boys End The Season in Regional Finals

Last year, the boys lost against Life Waxahachie. On March 23, it was a tremendous achievement for the Bulldogs to take home the dub against Life due to their rivalry in the past. In fact, winning against Life was one of the goals the boys wanted to accomplish this year. The boys scored the first seven points of the game and never fell behind with an ending 73-52 score.

On March 27, the boys played against Hirschi and began the game with a fourteen point lead. Hirschi scored a three pointer during the remaining three seconds that put the game into overtime. Luckily, the Bulldogs came out on top with an overall score of 58-52.

On Friday, March 2, the Bulldogs managed to score just four points over Estacado. The star player, Dylan Isenhower was absent from over half the game, but the rest of the team stepped up with clean free throws that led to the win. Kyle Roberts scored an overall of twenty-nine points, Sam King with nine points, and Thomas Lynch scored eight points for the team.

On Saturday, March 3, the boys played against Seminole in hopes to play at the state game. Unfortunately, the boys struggled with clean shots that led to an overall score of 42-62 at Lubbock Christian University. It ended the season for boys’ basketball, and it was the last game for the senior players.

Next year, the Wylie boys’ basketball team will be playing against different teams due to the shift to Class 5A. Next year, they will be ready to come back and hopefully accomplish the team’s long term goal-state.
